In the new certified reference material BAM-M313a AlMg3, which replaces the exhausted CRM ERM-EB313, mass fractions of the elements Si, Fe, Cu, Mn, Mg, Cr, Ni, Zn, Ti, Be, Bi, Ca, Cd, Ga, Hg, Li, Mo, Na, Pb, Sb, Sn, V, and Zr have been certified. Certification was done in an international certification round robin in cooperation with the working group “Aluminium” of the committee of chemists of GDMB (Gesellschaft der Metallurgen und Bergleute e.V.). In total 11 laboratories from industry and research participated in the certification interlaboratory comparison using different analytical methods for material characterisation.
The new certified reference material BAM-M313a is available in form of discs (30 mm height, ca. 60 mm diameter) for calibration and quality control in spark emission and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.
