In the new certified reference material BAM-M323 AlFe1, an alloy type which have not been certified by BAM before, mass fractions of the elements Si, Fe, Cu, Mn, Mg, Cr, Ga, Zn, Ti, Be, Bi, Ca, Cd, Co, Hg, Li, Na, Ni, Pb, Sb, Sn, V and Zr have been certified. Certification was done in an international certification round robin in cooperation with the working group “Aluminium” of the committee of chemists of GDMB (Gesellschaft der Metallurgen und Bergleute e.V.). In total eight laboratories from industry and research participated in the certification interlaboratory comparison using different analytical methods for material characterisation.
The new certified reference material BAM-M323 is available in form of discs (30 mm height, ca. 65 mm diameter) for calibration and quality control in spark emission and X-ray fluorescence spectrometry.
