Reference organisms

BAM's collection of reference organisms includes micro-organisms and insects, which are relevant for the colonisation and/or decomposition of materials, and are used for standards checking and tests for industrial products.

BAM's micro-organisms are phenotypically and genotypically characterised, while the insects are morphologically characterised. They enable biological tests to be performed on a reliable and reproducible basis. Some of these organisms have already entered standardisation and are used in pre-normative workgroups or for research purposes in material destruction.
